About Spokes Men:

Created in 2015 by Steve & Lisa Nick, Spokes Men for Bleeders raises awareness for bleeding disorders & funds to help the WV National Bleeding Disorders Foundation. The day begins with Steve and his teammates doing a 100-mile bike ride along the WO&D Trail ending in Inwood, WV. As the team arrives at the finish line, they are welcomed by a cheering crowd to the finish line party planned and executed by Lisa.

During the party, community members have an educational dinner where they learn more about bleeding disorders, followed by a raffle and silent auction that raises money to support WVNBDF’s programs and services.

Since 2015 Spokes Men for Bleeders has raised close to $80,000 for the WV bleeding disorders community.

Steve & Lisa’s Story:

Steve & I have two sons that were born with Severe Hemophilia A- Factor VIII Blood Clotting Deficiency (and recently a granddaughter who was diagnosed with Hemophilia A) & we wanted to find a way to help give back to an organization that has been such a wonderful support system for us! My family felt like we were alone in our medical ordeals, but WVNHF came along & invited us to our 1st educational event where we met a whole group, or should I say, Family!

They have taught us so much & have been there for us along the way! We just wanted to find a way to spread the word for this great organization so that no other families have to feel like they are going through this alone!

You Can Get Involved:

Ride on Steve’s Team: Steve is always welcoming new riders for the 100-mile bike ride. Riders are expected to raise $500 to join the team and will be given the team riding shirt.

Enter Raffle Item: If you have tickets to a game, a prize basket, or gift cards, donate them to be used in the raffle and silent auction.

Attend and Party: Join us for the after party. You’ll get to meet other members of the bleeding disorders community and can participate in the fundraiser. Everyone is welcome! REGISTER HERE
